Implant Supported Dentures

There are many advantages to Denture Implants.

Unsupported dentures rest on the gum tissue causing discomfort, irritation, and pressure that ultimately leads to bone loss. Dental implants stimulate the jaw bone and provide separation from gum tissue, thereby maintaining long term bone quality.

Upper dentures cover the palate. Denture Implants the palate is left opening allowing you the sense of feeling and taste that you had with natural teeth. Our past patients describe this as life changing.

Implant dentures allow you to speak, chew, and smile with confidence.

Surgical Dentures

When your plan involves getting extractions, you have an option to visit us and have your denture made prior to your extractions.  The procedure is similar to a Standard Complete Denture or Partial.  At the time of extractions, the denture is already there and inserted.  This guarantees that you will not be going without teeth.

After your extractions, there is usually swelling and the Denture will not fit correctly.  We will see you 24 hours after your extractions so we can adjust this temporary denture and get you feeling comfortable.  Tissue conditioners and/or soft lining for cushion may be added at this time at no additional cost.  During those six months of healing you may need to come in for adjustments.  No worries we will look after you!

Immediate Dentures aid in the healing and formation of the gums.  After six months of healing, the gum line will shrink and your denture will not fit.  This is when you will come in for a Reline at an additional cost.  Immediate dentures insure that your complete and final denture fits you the way it is supposed to.

  • Enables an individual to go back to work promptly.
  • Protects the tissues of your mouth by acting like a “Band-Aid” minimizing swelling and bleeding and promoting healing.
  • They make the transition from your natural teeth to denture(s) much easier.  Since at no time do you ever go without teeth.
  • The sooner you have the prosthesis inserted the more quickly you will adapt to the new denture(s) which will make speech and function easier to get used to, therefore; making you a successful denture wearer.

Acrylic Partials
Made from acrylic this denture is usually a more temporary solution. Not as strong as cast but will do the trick until something more permanent is planned.

Relines Same Day Processed

Broken, worn or ill-fitting dentures need not always be replaced. We can very quickly assess if you are a candidate for a rebase, reline, or repair.

Rebase
Rebasing is usually done when the denture teeth have not worn out in comparison to the denture base material. It provides a stable denture without replacing the denture teeth.

Relines
This consists of adding new base material to the tissue side of a denture so it fits properly. Relining affects only the fit of your denture and will not change the appearance.

Repairs
Repairs may be required when breakage or chipping occurs. When one or more teeth need to be added to an existing denture, or because of wear and tear. In most cases we can restore an existing broken or cracked denture to its original state.

Night Time Grinding Appliances

Bruxism refers to an oral parafunctional activity that occurs in most humans at some point in their lives.   Grinding of the teeth and clenching of the jaw are the two main characteristics of this condition, which can occur during the day or at night.

Bruxism is one of the most common known sleep disorders and causes most of its damage during sleeping hours.  The clenching and grinding which accompanies bruxism is symptomatic of a malfunctioning chewing reflex, which is turned off in non-sufferers when sleeping.  For sufferers, deep sleep or even naps cause the reflex nerve control center in the brain to turn off and the reflex pathways to become active.

Typically, the incisors and canines (front 6 upper and lower teeth) of opposing arches grind against each other laterally.  This side to side action puts undue strain on the medial pterygoid muscles and the temporomandibular joints.  Earache, depression, headaches, eating disorders, and anxiety are among the most common symptoms of bruxism; these symptoms also accompany health issues such as chronic stress, Alzheimer’s disease, and alcohol abuse.

Bruxism is frequently misdiagnosed or not d
